California-based sex-doll doctor Slade Fiero is one such mender who specializes in nursing RealDolls back to optimum health. His customers willingly pay hundreds of dollars for even the most minor patch-and-stitch job to restore their life-like dolls to perfection. So what other kinds of repairs does he carry out on these sex-dolls? Everything from skin blemishes to thigh gashes, displaced jaws, and limb reattachment. He has even performed a RealDoll breast enlargement. And I thought cleaning up crime scenes was a bizarre career choice!  Since 1996, Californian company Abyss Creations has manufactured about 4,000 RealDolls, shipping them around the world.
Painstakingly sculpted in silicone and hand-painted to feel and look like real women, the dolls have become a cultural phenomenon.
A standard-issue model sells for $6,500, while a meticulously customized one can go for as much as $50,000.
