Ordering a pizza and having it delivered is about as convenient as is gets, so Pizza Hut is now on a mission to improve the way customers pick up and pay for a pizza.
The pizza chain is working on a connected car system, which would allow customers to order and pay from their vehicles when they arrive near the store. Bluetooth technology installed at the parking lots would be able to help customers identify themselves. For payment, Pizza Hut teamed up with Visa and Accenture to expand options at checkout. This system also helps Pizza Hut give out incentives for return customers, which is a clever way to build loyalty on top of added convenience.
Once an order is placed, Pizza Hut is able to collect the beacon ID number and stall to identify where they should bring the pizza order once it is prepared.
