Redshirt Films' Parody Commercial Puts a New Spin on John Lewis' Ad

This parody commercial features a spoof on the John Lewis Christmas commercial starring Monty the Penguin. Rather than telling a sweet tale about a boy and his imaginary penguin companion, this parody from Redshirt Films features a darker take on the footage, spinning the story into one where Monty is a slave to a suburban boy's every whim.

Rather than suggesting that Monty is having a good time with the boy, this film shows that the penguin is totally out of place serving as "fluffy hot water bottles for spoiled rich children." Near the end of the video, when a second penguin is introduced into the boy's home, rather than being a heartwarming moment as in the original commercial, you can't help but feel sad for the fate of these two suburban penguins.
