Packaged in a quaint matchstick box, this paper pencil set entitled 'Don't Cut the Trees' is part of a collaborative project by product designers Andrea Roman and Ariel Rojo.
Trying to promote more sustainable living solutions, the designers focused on the importance of recycling and reusing materials in order to reduce the harmful impact mass consumption has on the environment. Instead of filling up landfills with excess trash and chopping down forests for materials, the duo uses recycled paper to create their line of stationery products.
In a brilliant twist that also serves to further reduce waste, the paper pencil packaging also includes a rough strip, much like a typical matchbox, on which the pencils can be sharpened, eliminating the need for a pencil sharpener.
