The Palais de Tokyo's exhibits are now being staged on the very walls of the exhibit. The contemporary art space has undergone a pricey renovation, seen its updates worth $26 million. Now fully refurbished, it is inviting its featured artists to erect installations by way of its own partitions and windows.
This concept alters the way in which art is conventionally showcased. While most designers bring their pieces into buildings, Palais de Tokyo is using its sprawling facilities as the very base for its creative displays. Oliver Beer is, like many other industry members, wildly enthusiastic, "It's such a bold and dynamic thing. You can't just come and hang your art up. The building actually provokes the art."
