Note to Trend Hunters: Top 40 Prank Article Front Paged Digg, Knocked TH Offline

Trend Hunters!
Our Top 40 Prank article hit the front page of Digg, driving our beloved Trend Hunter to reach 140,000 views today. However, it would have been over 200,000. The site was consistently knocked offline starting at 8pm and beyond… In some ways it is a good problem to have, but I am very bummed that our EIGHT processors weren’t able to keep the site alive.
DOWNSIDE: We weren’t able to get all of the editing done and I didn’t get to complete my April Fool’s day prank on all of you… :( But you can still submit your prank ideas HERE.
UPSIDE: Our servers were upgraded today, but we have also kicked off a KILLER upgrade that would put Trend Hunter in a new league.
For a little history, the last time an article really messed with us was when Britney shaved her head. I had one of the first posts on the lovely topic and we were in Google’s top 10 for the search, “Britney Spears pictures.” Apparently people search for that kind of stuff.
