The American artist Jen Strark has oriented your research to color paper sculpture.
The secret is in the overlap of much layers of cardstock paper to create an optical effect.
She does’t use CAD software and some kind of tricked-out handheld laser to construct her 3-D forms, she just sketches a design, grabs her X-Acto knife, and starts to slice.

Stark says:
“My sister is a doctor, and she brought home these cross- sectional anatomy textbooks,”
