Salemi was struck by an earthquake 40 years ago and the town hasn’t recovered since. Pop artist Peter Gabriel is one of the several international notable figures who has shown interest in the community as a result of Mayor Sgarbi’s plan. What's the catch? The homes being offered for sale were all damaged in the earthquake and will require extensive renovations to be made liveable.
