Olympic Menu Tastings - Japanese Prepare For Chinese Food

There is a huge difference between Japanese and Chinese food, and an even greater contrast between Japan’s athletes are used to eating and that which will be served at the Beijing Olympics later this summer.

To prepare their palates for the different culinary options to be offered at the games, Japan’s athletes underwent official “Olympic Menu Fair” tastings this week. In addition to new flavours, the food will be served with westernized cutlery, so all athletes accustomed to eating with chopsticks will need to practice their knife and fork skills.
