The Octopus by Make Architects Looks Like a Giant Geometric Stone

By: Marissa Brassfield - Published: • References: makearchitects & archiscene.net
The Octopus by Make Architects is a proposed mixed-use building for the Chiswick area of London. Its jagged facade will house an LED advertising space, offices and a sky garden open to the public. The design above is Make Architects' second try; the original design, which featured two LED boards instead of one, was scrapped due to concerns that it would distract drivers on the nearby highway.

The geometric building features angular facets akin to a gemstone. It extends 49.5 meters, or about 162 feet, into the sky. The Octopus' facade features a veritable rainbow tones that mimic the sunset; they vary from yellow-orange at the top to deep purple at the bottom.

The Octopus by Make Architects is sure to add aesthetic appeal to Chiswick, London. I'd love to work in such an unusually shaped office building. Stats for Jagged Gem Architecture Trending: Older & Mild
