Some people may choose to ignore the calorie information, and that’s totally fine. But other people will use it to choose healthier food.” The new regulations would go into effect as of March 31st if the vote passes. Frieden stated that “I don’t think we’re going to see the 2,700-calorie appetizers that we see now.” This follows the trend for New York City as they were the first to place a ban on trans fats in prepared food in restaurants such as these fast food locations.
