Being bedridden and hooked up to machines may not be a requirement of hospital patients much longer thanks to the Nuubo Smart Shirt. The Nuubo Smart Shirt is a health-monitoring shirt designed to give patients the freedom to move and to make them easier to monitor.

The Nuubo Smart Shirt is equipped with sensors that track a patient's heart rate as well as temperature. The shirt can even perform an EKG test via remote control. Giving patients the freedom to move around the hospital could be an issue for the people trying to monitor them, which is why the Nuubo Smart Shirt is equipped with a GPS tracking device. The shirt also has an accelerometer built into it to measure whether a patient is walking or running and whether they are standing up or lying down.

The Nuubo Smart Shirt is currently undergoing trials in a Spanish hospital. If successful, the hope is that the shirt could eventually be used to monitor the health status of low-risk patients from home.
