Karen Elson stars in the 'Sarah Morris' editorial for Numéro's #154 issue. For those of you unfamiliar, Sarah Morris is an internationally exhibited British-American artist. Her paintings feature a colorful and geometric aesthetic that borders on psychedelic.
In order to pay tribute to Morris, Elson stands in front of backdrops inspired by her expressive, abstract paintings. Elson's fire engine-red hair, styled by Teddy Charles, is perfectly complemented by the range of primary colors featured in the sets. Makeup artist Maud Laceppe enhanced the look by opting for a carnation pink eye shadow applied generously over the lid and brow bone, and a deep red lip.
Fashion editor Charles Varenne styled Elson in outfits ranging from a body-hugging red leather dress to a pastel-pink houndstooth suit. The editorial was lensed by photographer Victor Demarchelier.
