It went like this - two friends were cussingly attempting to play racquetball. One of them said “Arrr”. And somehow they decided to make an official “Talk Like A Pirate Day”. It was June 6, 1995 but, that day wasn’t good enough. Instead, one of the two founders chose his ex-wife’s birthday.
