Nissan Concept Car - Pivo 2 drives sideways, cabin rotates (VIDEO)
[Edit]
Trend Hunter first introduced you to Nissan’s Pivo concept car in December 2006. We’re excited to give you their updated version, the Pivo 2, a bubble-shaped vehicle that can drive sideways!
The interior cabin of the three-seater electric car physically pivots (hence the name) so the passengers can face which ever the way the car is driving—this completely eliminates the need to go in reverse. Why didn’t they have this when I started driving? Road tests may never be the same again!
The robotic technology is incredible too.
“A round-eyed robot head sitting on the dashboard has cameras that can tell when a driver is getting sleepy,” PhysOrg reported. “‘You look tired. There’s a coffee shop 500 metres ahead on the left,’ it told a driver with drooping eyelids during a recent demonstration.”
Not only can the Pivo 2 detect levels of alertness, but it also senses moods; there’s even an anger-management feature for drivers susceptible to road rage!
The mind-blowing concept car will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 27. Trend Hunter was able to flag down one of the first videos of the Pivo 2, keeping you on top of emerging tech! Check back for updates.
