'Primate' is a photo series, captured by British photographer Daniel Nisbett, that consists of photographs of orangutans in the forests of Borneo.
Nisbett captured the photos in the Semengoh orangutan sanctuary, located near the town of Kurching in the island of Borneo.
The photos were all taken with a special Infrared camera. This gives the orangutans a rather ethereal look, while also conveying their vulnerability as individuals and a species, as well as their grace and impressive appearance.
The series is Nisbett's latest effort showcasing his passion for the environment and the earth's natural history and his belief that the natural environment will always remain just that, regardless of humans' best efforts to leave a permanent mark on their world.
