The Nike Risk Everything ad is a subtle nod to the FIFA World Cup taking place in June of 2014 in Brazil. Since Adidas is actually the one sponsoring the cup, Nike decided to create a commercial focusing on three famous football players getting ready for the game of their life, without actually mentioning the World Cup at all.
The commercial features the men leading up to the moment they step out into the stadium, all set to the background music of a man walking down a hard hallway, tapping his feet with every step. The shots and steady rhythm of the commercial all create the feeling of pressure on the players, and incorporate viewers into the mix by having them feel this sense of urgency too.
Wieden+Kennedy produced the ad, which was extremely well done.
