The NFL is warning all teams not to allow their cheerleaders to do anything near the visiting teams that may distract them. This includes, but is not limited to, stretching, aching of the back, slapping of the booty, bending over in any direction, raising a leg or legs above the ears, and shaking pom-poms suggestively.
CBS reports that the NFL sent a memo to all 32 teams warning them not to allow their cheerleaders to, ahem, distract the opposition with warm-ups, stretching or anything else that might take the players’ minds off the game.
According to fanhouse.com there were concerns that some teams had instructed their pom-pom princesses to practice their moves right in front of the visiting team, in hopes that the players would be so taken by their gyrations that they’d miss their coaches’ pregame instructions.
