New York Life Insurance Company recently began ramping up its social media presence by offering users a practical reason to follow its account. In addition to photos of employees and various destinations in New York City, the insurance agency is now posting photos and videos that provide consumers with useful financial advice.
Back in October of 2015, New York Life began posting videos explaining what basic insurance terms mean such as 'life insurance' and 'universal life insurance.' These videos were soon followed by advice about common financial issues such as how to avoid debt and how to protect family finances. To make it easy for Instagram users to find all of these tips and trick, the company tagged each post with the hashtag #whiteboardwednesday.
By sharing useful financial advice over Instagram, New York Life has made itself more accessible to a younger generation who might be intimidated by the prospect of purchasing insurance.
