Qualcomm's New Processor Promises Longer Wearable Battery Life

The SnapDragon Wear 1100 is a brand new wearable-focused processor, designed by none other than Qualcomm, that is designed to act as the beating heart of the next generation of multi-purpose wearable devices such as smartwatches.

Unveiled at the Computex 2016 event, Qualcomm's new processor is constructed with a host of low power features that include a special Power Saving Mode that can play a key role in prolonging the battery life of wearables. Connectivity features are led by the LTE and 3G modem, not to mention support for WiFi and Bluetooth for easy device-pairing.

Smartwatches and other wearables ultimately live and die by their processors, which is why this new processor is such an important innovation. With its compact size, connective features and low-power capabilities, this processor will help people get more battery life and more convenience out of their wearables.
