It looks like we might be seeing a new version of the iPhone and iPod Touch come June. Apple showed off the new firmware for the devices at an event this week and gave a preliminary version to developers to try out.

What developers have found buried deep within the code are some potential new iPhone models (iPhone 2,1 and iPhone 3,0). The 3.0 version of software for the iPhone is expected to be released in June, which is about the time Apple has been announcing its new phones, so the timing makes sense. I’m excited about the possibility.

I'm really pumped about the iPhone 3.0 OS upgrade. I really can't imagine what else they might add besides recording video. Maybe that's the secret... or maybe they're cutting the phone's size down.
