Drawing inspiration from traditional, Russian figurines, this unexpected nesting doll is surprisingly racy. The artistic toy is designed by artist Mato Ryoko and references iconic matryoshka dolls in a way that is contemporary and visually bold.

Featuring a traditional baboushka top and a daring bikini bottom, this unique nesting doll opens to reveal a curvy and swimsuit-clad woman. The doll dons a red bikini and appears more daring than most other matryoshka nesting doll figurines who are dressed in cultural garb.

Designed as part of Mato Ryoko's self-titled exhibition at the Milano Salone, this art piece challenges tradition and will appeal to collectors of Russian nesting dolls. While pop culture-themed nesting dolls are not a new concept, this revealing art piece celebrates feminist values and merges past and current perceptions of women in society.
