Nathan Stubblefield, the name trips off your tongue like, Sony, Samsung, nay Apple 3G iPhone. Just 100 short years ago, Mr. Stubblefield invented the portable phone. Well back then anything that could be hauled by a Kentucky mule was portable. The signal was sent thru the air, check. It could be heard at the other end, check (well sometimes) It was pretty ugly, check. So aside from size this Kentucky melon farmer really did invent the first portable phone - there is a patent to prove it. If that isn’t enough Virgin Mobile is honoring this birthday.
