These bizarre and intriguing pieces are the handiwork of Montreal-based artist Nadia Moss. Working with watercolors and ink, Moss creates a tapestry of fantastical characters and strangely effecting narratives.
The form Moss's subjects assume seem to hearken back to a previous stage in human evolution. Appearing to be far more in touch with their primate roots then more modern incarnations of the genus Homo Sapien, her blurred figures exhibit intense emotion through the gestures their limbs assume. Their faces are obscured and distant, but the spacial orientation of this odd cast of characters suggests an emotional narrative that the viewer is left to speculate.
Nadia Moss creates deeply affecting work while utilizing out of the ordinary aesthetics and cryptic emotional scenes. Her work is sure to leave a lasting impact on anyone who has the opportunity to steal a glance.
