Last week Gallery 1988 opened their 'Multiplayer X2,' an exciting new art exhibit showcasing the illustrations of video game-inspired art posters. The exhibition featured works from over 30 artists with such video game inspirations like Castlevania, Super Mario, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a personal favorite: Double Dragon.

Any gamer or art fanatic should definitely check this out. LA’s Gallery 1988 is defining itself as a hotspot for contemporary pop art. Even if you’re unable to go, you can still check out a small sample of the show here. Most of the showcases are from video games from the early Nintendo and Sega Genesis days. Some of the pieces may not be recognizable at first, but this just adds to the retro charm of the pieces. Stats for Video Game Artwork Trending: Older & Mild
