Mulberry, one of Britain’s top luxury brands, is following the dogwear-design lead of Roberto Cavalli—who launched the Roberto Cavalli Pets collection back in March –- with an Autumn/Winter 2009 line of canine winter wear: Mulberry for Mutts.
Shown here in the snuggly new fashions is adorable Hogey, from the Battersea Dogs Home. Wearing a red and black Lumberjack Wool Check coat and a Princess Collar coat in the classic Mulberry Tweed Check, he looks so convincingly cute and warm that we almost forget the expense is closing in on ridiculous.
Hogey’s endearing-ness aside, at least the Mulberry for Mutts line offers a relatively higher degree of practicality -– after all, dogs get cold too -– than did Roberto Cavalli Pets, which included printed silk shorts and satin bathrobes.
Now where are the doggie winter boots?
