The Hollywood rumor mill has it that Morgan Spurlock, who has just completed a documentary in the Middle East titled, “Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?” has actually found the elusive “Holy Grail” and infamous terrorist. Rumors began at the Berlin International Film Festival, when Spurlock gave potential buyers a private 15-minute showing of his documentary. It sold quickly to The Weinstein Co. and will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Implications - Publicity stunts are an excellent way to draw attention to a company or its products. The more outlandish the publicity stunt, the more chance it has of gaining attention. Companies who are looking to capture media, consumer and industry attention should create viral videos and utilize guerilla marketing to garner recognition.
