30-Year-Old Pottery Shop Kutani Choemon Updates Its Designs

Kutani Choemon is a pottery shop that has stood the test of time, but to last another 130 year, it has introduced a line of modernized Japanese tableware which will appeal to younger generations. Although it maintains the iconic silhouettes of its cups and chopstick holders, the imagery has been tweaked to include fun elements such as a boombox, skateboard and drum set.

The modernized Japanese tableware is also still made using blue Kutani color glazes. Quirky and playful, the Kutani Choemon's latest collection is still as practical as ever, just with a slight twist. In addition to this particular line of modernized Japanese tableware, the pottery shop also boasts a youthful Disney collection as well as cups with hidden characters inside.
