Gone are the days of not knowing your neighbors with the launch of wannastartacommune.com. This is a site encouraging communities to pull together and share resources, be it a communal compost site, car pool opportunities, baby-sitting services or neighborhood recycling centers. The brainchild of Stephanie Smith of design lab Ecoshack, Wanna Start a Commune already has 3 pilot projects up and running in Los Angeles. This is a revamp of old fashioned traditional values that can surely only be of benefit to communities as a whole, helping each other to help ourselves.
