Kaviar Gauche Puts Sole Focus On Handbags, Not Clothing

I really don’t get this campaign by upscale leather goods house Kaviar Gauche. The big idea for their Winter ‘09 collection is to parade the models up and down the catwalk wearing nothing but skin tone underwear and long tresses or wigs to cover their privates.

The intention behind the strange scheme is to make the audience focus their attention on the handbags and not on the models’ clothes.

Wouldn’t that plan achieve the opposite effect Kaviar Gauche is looking for?

I think sending the models out in plain, unattractive clothes would work much better. But then again, what do I know?
