Will the Mobis Secure Bike Module Discourage or Encourage Ecommuters?
Pay-To-Park Bike Stations - Will the Mobis Secure Bike Module Discourage or Encourage Ecommuters? (GALLERY) 2

The Covina Mobis Secure Bike Module design for Covina, California is a pay-to-park bike station that, for $8 a month, will allow you to park your bicycle in peace while you work. The station is located within Covina’s LEED 3.0 bike facility and echoes other Mobis bike parks throughout Southern California.

The Mobis Secure Bike Module in Covina has space for 36 individual bikes; despite the monthly surcharge, it is an unmanned parking spot. Do you think this pay-to-park bike facility will encourage ecommuters or discourage them?

According to Mobis, Covina can add on extra modules as needed. The most luxurious of Mobis' bike parking stations is also the first, opened in Long Beach in 1996, where users have access to such lovely amenities as free attended indoor parking, air for tires, and a bike repair shop. The question is, would you pay for that? (treehugger)
