MIT University is opening a new Hong Kong campus called the MIT Innovation Node, which will focus on helping its students and faculty bring their ideas to market more rapidly and effectively.

Aided by its advantageous position in Hong Kong, the MIT Innovation Node will give students and professors access to the most advanced and cost-efficient resources, the expertise of some of the world's top entrepreneurs and entry into Asia's rapidly expanding markets. On the MIT Innovation Node campus, visiting MIT students and staff will collaborate with their Hong Kong-based counterparts as well as MIT alumni and local entrepreneurs.

The MIT Innovation Node is a bold and ambitious move on the part of the renowned university. It reflects an awareness of the current backlash against formal education and the next generation's desire to receive practical, applicable support and training from its post-secondary institutions.
