Reality TV Elimination Through Injuries - Misty May-Treanor on Dancing With The Stars (VIDEO)

Dancing with the Stars competitor Misty May-Treanor injured her ankle and will not be competing in the next episode. Although most reality shows rely on being voted off or not keeping up with the crowd in terms of performance, Misty May-Treanor had to eliminate herself after a physical injury. Misty May-Treanor, who is an Olympic gold-medalist volleyball player, badly injured her ankle on Friday during rehearsal. She required medical treatment by the Dancing with the Stars emergency crew and was then transported to a hospital. Misty May-Treanor, who belongs to what’s been called “the greatest beach volleyball team of all time”, was partnered with pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy in the competition. Misty May-Treanor will also not be able to play volleyball for 8 months, possibly longer.  Last week, the 31 years old volleyball player received some of her highest praise from the panel of DWTS judges after performing an intense Paso Doble with Maks. The duo consistently received 21 points out of 30 for the host of dances they performed on the show. “Compared to what we (last) saw I want to thank you because that is the kind of determination we need,” said Judge Carrie Ann Inaba on Monday’s show.
