Tokyo-based design firm 'Nendo' recently debuted a minimalist chair that is inspired by the shape and structure of twigs. While many other designers specialize in minimalist furniture, this particular piece combines contemporary materials with the shape of natural objects.
The minimalist chair is made up of an aluminum frame with an attached seat and four protruding twig-like branches. While the frame itself remains unchanged, users can customize the upper portion of the chair by using different shapes, materials and colors. The ability to customize the back of the seating means that the chair can be used for a number of different functions. For example, users can add a high back to the chair to make it appropriate for dining, or they can chose a segmented chair for more causal use.
