Microsoft Confirms Vista Replacement - Windows 7 On Schedule For 2010 Release
[Edit]
It is official! Microsoft has confirmed it is planning to release Windows 7 by 2010. According to Softpedia, a company spokesman revealed in an email that “"We are currently in the planning stages for Windows 7 and development is scoped to three years from Windows Vista Consumer GA. The specific release date will be determined once the company meets its quality bar for release."”. Since Vista was launched to the general public in January 2007, the three year development cycle would put the consumer release of Windows 7 some time in 2010, with the possibility of a commercial release to businesses as early as 2009.
