Surgical Innovations - The Micro Grip

Surgeries are performed daily to answer life-saving circumstances and health care needs. A new surgical tool that acts in response to chemical triggers or biochemicals has been created by David Gracias. The invention was inspired by the goal to have a mobile or freely moving machine inside the body which is helpful for targeting small structures in the body.

Nowadays, “keyhole” surgery is gaining in popularity due its less invasive nature and the fact that it is less dangerous for the patient. However, this type of surgery limits the ability to operate skillfully since maneuvering surgical instruments is minimal.

Description:

* A grip which is very tiny with hand like structure specifically designed to use in biopsy and in less invasive surgical operations.
* When there’s a biochemical release, the “fingers” of the tiny grip curls on the source which is mobile with the use of a magnet.
* It is specifically used to rule out specific disease or analysis of a sample tissue.
* It operates in the absence of electricity.
* The 1st micromachine introduced that is capable of doing several purposes.
