The Michaela Schmid 'Shabby Chic' collection embodies the '80s British aesthetic, infusing tulle party dresses, cardigans and short-sleeved coats with a beautiful bouquet of ruffled petals and rosettes. The line's pastel pink palette is tempered with a smattering of black and smoke gray, a beautiful juxtaposition of hard and soft.

Implications - The idea of romanticism is advantageous for designers. Females who grew up listening to fairy tales want the happy ending childhood stories promise them. Through their fashions, they can project their inner damsels-in-distress or princesses in a modern way. Ideas such as petal-covered clothing promotes the romantic aesthetic and therefore, evokes the consumer's desire to have a happy ending.
