Are Men’s Health Magazine Ads Sexist or Stupid?
Unhealthy Gender Bashing - Are Men’s Health Magazine Ads Sexist or Stupid? (GALLERY) 2

This is not a sexist ad campaign per se, but it surely is one in bad taste.

Aiming to communicate that Men’s Health Magazine is “all about men,” these new German ads by KNSK, Hamburg show images of unhealthy women suffering while doing cardio, riding a bicycle and having a run.

I would think a good ad agency could come up with a witty idea to illustrate the male target demographic of the magazine without resorting to showing women as out of shape and not healthy.

The ads were photographed by Marcel Schaar with creative director Tim Krink and art director Thomas Thiele.

Ohhh, I can just imagine the comeback ads this could ignite! Imagine the unfit men women could feature in a response campaign. Could be viral!

I agree B, it is totally stupid and not even that witty. So health is for men only. Agh.

I just don't know what this accomplishes in promoting a men's magazine. If it's to prove that women 'can't hang' with men in terms of fitness and therefore 'can't hang' with Men's Health Magazine, that's a lame point to make. We already know that men's and women's bodies are completely different. If it's to prove that women wouldn't be interested in the content inside Men's Health Magazine, why not do what Playboy has done and just put scantily-clad women on the cover?
