Though not what you'd typically expect from the designer, the Alexander Mcqueen Resort 2014 Collection is probably the most striking seen so far. While the fall collection was highly guilded and cage-faced, the resort collection is much more ethereal with subtle hints of gothic influences.

There's something free and organic about the collection that kind of sets a different tone for the designer's creative vision in general. It's almost as though Burton himself had become a lady of the canyon and this is even seen early on in the collection's offering.

The little dresses in canvas cotton with their dungaree straps and unfinished seams have a sturdy 'Rosie the Riveter' feel. Under the canvas you'll find several layers of broderie anglaise petticoats that add full dimensions to silhouettes.
