Billboards Made of Lettuce - McDonald’s Growing Fresh Salads Ad (VIDEO)

This unique growing outdoor billboard by Leo Burnett, which promotes McDonald’s health-conscious menu items, just won a Gold at New York Festivals’ Innovative Advertising Awards.

The garden billboard was erected a few months ago with green lettuce planted to form the words “fresh salads.” The creative team worked closely with a horticulturist/landscape architect to have the lettuce start with 1½-inch spouts and grow into lush leaves over time.
