Visual artist Maura Murnane, a veteran of of the fashion industry, creates media manipulation pieces that have fun with the concept of perfection. Working with Photoshop as part of her day job retouching images of models, Murnane was driven to get experimental and the results belong more to the art world than the fashion scene.

Creating her own process of deconstructing and recombining parts of the originals, Maura Murnane transforms stereotypical female beauty into blotchy, fragmented shapes which play with space and reality. In these pieces, the models often end up looking more inhuman than glamorous. The technique makes for truly arresting images. Currently, Maura Murnane art is not on the market due to copyright issues, but that could change as the work continues to garner attention. Stats for Faceless-Figured Models Trending: Older & Warm
