This Mashup Art Series Portrays Our Obsession with Pop Culture Products

If you have a thing for the world of surreal art and more importantly a love for mashup art series, you'll love this bizarrely attractive project that fuses the natural world with consumer society and culture.

The 'Nature Preserve' series by photographer and illustrator Jason DeMarte will both confuse and delight you with its creative and distinct style. The exploratory mashup art series meshes two things that should never mix together: the natural world and contemporary consumer society. The photographer creates his art pieces by digitally combining images of surreal and artificial flora and fauna landscapes with pop culture products like Cheetos, donuts and plucked overpriced flowery bouquets.

The bizarre series sends a message of how society has become so obsessed with unnatural products and DeMarte believes it "speaks metaphorically and symbolically of our mental separation from what is ‘real’ and compares this with the consumer world we surround ourselves with as a consequence."
