Luxury Lifestyles – Mega-Yacht Industry is Buoyant (GALLERY)

As we head into a recession, yacht makers have nothing to fear. The super rich are maintaining their extravagant lifestyles with bigger and better mega-yachts. The demand for them is so high that yacht manufacturers are already four years behind in production. The mega-yachts of today are those vessels more than 151 feet in length and over 2 decks high.

As I sit here drooling over yachts, my 27’ cabin cruiser, African Queen, resents sitting in dry dock at the Jersey Shore, knowing that as soon as the Sheikh of Dubai tires of his 524’ mega-yacht she’s a trade-in.
