Love on the Rocks: Bulldog Gin Censored

This is a new advertisement for Bulldog Gin, a London Dry Gin available on the east coast of the US and in Britain.

The ad was released in England a few weeks ago but has apparently stalled in the US market due to its sexual content—odd, because it isn’t explicitly graphic in any way, although it does have an aggressive sexual feel to it.

Is it just me, or is everything sexier in black and white? It has a kind of film noir-ishness to it, as well, which kind of goes along with the James Bond, dry martini motif. I’m thinking “Pickup on South Street,” “The Naked City”...maybe even the music video to Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”.

Not a bad way to sell gin.
