In the hopes of raising awareness about domestic and interpersonal abuse, an app called 'Love is Not Abuse' is being released for the iPhone and Android devices.
Immediately after downloading the app and verifying your profile, the 'Love is Not Abuse' application will launch salvo after salvo of virtual violence. You'll receive menacing, albeit pre-recorded phone calls and threatening text messages in order to simulate the experience of relationship abuse. The application flirts with reality and goes so far as tampering with your social network profile; it'll change your password, update tweets and change your relationship status.
Although the effort is sincere, critics may think that the app goes too far. Generally speaking, a candid talk with your partner or parents may be more effective.
