Lonesome George & Co. was created to enact positive social change by empowering youth to make more informed choices to help impact their community and protect their future.
Operating on a triple-bottom-line business model, the company donates at least 10 per cent of its profits to fund programs that educate community members about the importance of protecting natural resources facing extinction.
Inspired by the story of George the Pinta Tortoise, the very last of its kind still found on the Galapagos Islands, the business sells comfortable and casual clothing that spreads the mantra that the wearer is an 'agent of change.' Each item purchased, in combination with help from the organization Outward Bound, funds youth programs that provide participants with the knowledge and skills to protect plant and animal species from going extinct.
