Advertising With Alive Technology The London Underground, with its dingy walls and dark, gloomy corridors have been a fantastic location for brands to entertain and uplift their audience with emotive or interesting advertising imagery. But now the digital age is transforming these communication channels with amazing new DEP (digital escalator panels), XTP (cross-track projection), LCD corridor panels and even moving LED panels on buses once people get above ground. The new technology, named Alive, has been set into place by the brand communications agency, CBS Outdoors. The screens allow all manor of brands to play adverts, film trailers, video clips and much more, either in unison or in sync along digital screens throughout the underground and up the escalators. Advertising can be time specific such as theatre advertising during the evening around the west end stations or coffee brands communicating to consumers in the a.m whilst on their way to work. I came across the system as it was being installed on the Kings Cross station last month and decided to check it out online. At http://www.cbsoutdoor-alive.co.uk i came across the coolest video, a virtual tool of what the london underground will look like in the future with these screens (well worth a look). http://www.cbsoutdoor-alive.co.uk/download.aspx?folder=3&name=cbsShowreel_lo.mov References: cbsoutdoor-alive, sbsoutdoor-alive 1 Comment: on Digital future for London Underground |
