These lavender frosting-topped lemon cupcakes are fruity, floral and everything feminine. Created by Jessica Merchant and featured on The Pioneer Woman blog, the dessert recipe makes adorable treats that are as delicious to eat as they are pretty to look at.

The easy lavender lemon cupcakes are made with dried culinary grade lavender that's been finely chopped and infused with milk and cream. Or you could also opt for a less flavorful lavender extract for simplicity's sake. Other ingredients include freshly grated lemon zest, vanilla extract, lemon extract, freshly squeezed lemon juice, powdered sugar and purple food coloring for the icing. You can also garnish with a fresh sprig of lavender, if you would like.
