Classic famous paintings are getting a unique makeover thanks to one artist who is recreating famous art to create LEGO portrait collection.

Artist Marco Sodano is using LEGO bricks to recreate well-known and much-lauded artworks like The Mona Lisa and The Girl With the Pearl Earring. The tagline in Sodao’s Behnace page says, "All the children are authentic artists." This association of childhood with creativity is an excellent summation of just what LEGO does: gives children an outlet to create whatever comes into their head, the same way these famous artists created what was in their heads with paint, a canvas, and a model.

The LEGO portrait collection makes for a creative series and the results are visually interesting, with the portraits looking almost pixelated. These portraits make bold and interesting statements about great art and where creativity comes from. Stats for Famous LEGO Portrait Recreations Trending: Older & Mild
