Old meets young with the LATA 65 Lisbon initiative, which sets out to teach senior citizens the history of street art and the techniques behind the art form. Following the workshops, the aspiring artists take trips into the city to make their mark on this relatively young culture.

Established street artists are enthusiastically participating in the movement, which is a part of a larger shift in street art away from deviant culture and into the mainstream. By widening the age range of both its artists and audience, the LATA 65 Lisbon workshops are aiming to shatter some of the preconceptions that have stopped graffiti from becoming a socially accepted art form over the last decade, in addition to adding interesting waves of color throughout the city.
